We've taken our own animals into several countries: the health certificates, the timing that catches people out, and which airlines are workable. For a dog too large for the cabin, a shared or private charter keeps them beside you.

We've flown our own animals into several countries. We can't do the vet visits, but we can tell you what's involved and where it usually goes wrong.
Cabin, hold, or charter
Small dogs and cats can usually fly in the cabin. Larger dogs normally can't, and the default is the cargo hold. A semi-private charter avoids it, at considerably more cost.
Documentation and timing
Microchip, rabies vaccination, waiting period, then certification inside a short window before departure. The order matters, and steps done out of sequence have to be repeated. We work backwards from your departure date.
Airline and route selection
Carriers differ on breed, crate size and season, and some routes add an overnight in boarding. We'll tell you which combinations work.
When not to fly
Age, breed, temperament, or a destination with quarantine on arrival. We'd rather say so early than six months in.

Frequently asked questions
Do I pay you, or do I pay the hotels and airlines?
Both. You pay us a planning fee for our time. You pay suppliers directly for the travel itself — we never mark it up.
Isn't this cheaper if I just book it myself?
Sometimes, and we'll say so if that's the case. The fee is for our time and judgement. On hotel bookings the perks we can attach — breakfast, a room upgrade, a resort credit — often come to more than we charged you.
What happens in the initial consultation?
We will talk on the phone about what you want out of your trip and whether we are the right fit for you. You'll leave with a direction, and we will also discuss a realistic budget. No commitment.
What happens if my flight is cancelled while I'm away?
You call or message us and we rebook it. If we didn't book the flight we'll still help, but the airline moves faster for whoever holds the reservation.
How far in advance should I come to you?
Three to six months for international travel. Longer for peak season, safaris, or anything involving a pet. We take last-minute work when we can still do it well.
Can you really help with taking our dog to Europe?
Yes. We've done it with our own animals into several countries, so we can walk you through the sequence — microchip, rabies titre, USDA endorsement, Animal Health Certificate — and the flight options, including charters that avoid the cargo hold for larger dogs.
